Accessibility

A disk that's easy to reach.

DiskBeam puts your iPhone's files in Finder, where your Mac's own accessibility features already work. This page says plainly what the app supports today, and what we have not finished testing.

What works today

Larger text

In our checks on small and large iPhones and on iPad, the Welcome, Connect and purchase screens work at the largest text sizes; Welcome scrolls when the text doesn't fit.

Apple’s accessibility audit

Apple’s automatic audit for tap areas, clipped text and element traits passes on all seven screens. Buttons and links are at least 44 points, and decorative icons are hidden from VoiceOver.

Finder does the rest

On your Mac, DiskBeam is an ordinary disk in Finder, so VoiceOver, Zoom and your Mac's keyboard shortcuts work with it as with any disk.

Copy, don't type

The address, certificate code, name and password each have a Copy button, so you never have to type them.

What we have not finished testing

We have not finished testing DiskBeam with VoiceOver, Voice Control or Switch Control on a real iPhone, so we do not claim support for them yet. We checked colour contrast by eye, not with an automatic tool, so we do not claim full contrast support either. We will update this page as we test more.

Tell us what gets in your way

A button that is hard to hit, text that does not scale, a step that is hard to follow: we want to know and we read every message.
